Well this is a bit daunting! My first ever blog. It’s something I have thinking about doing for a while now and tonight while I was sitting thinking of many excuses not to go to the gym, this was what I decided was more important. So…here we go…
At first I should tell you a little bit about us. My name is Shona, I am married to Barny and Mum to Harris who is 12 years old (13 in May as he keeps reminding me), and Freya who is 10 years old. I work full time as a Nursery Nurse or Early Years Practitioner as we are now known as. I love my job, it is amazing working with the littlest humans watching them learn and grow while using there imaginations through play to explore and discover this big, exciting world we live in. When not working I love spending time with my family and friends and walking my dog.
Harris is embracing the transition into his teenage years and is ticking every teenage cliche off as if he goes (he is a checklist kind of guy). He enjoys being “forgetful” when asked to do small chores and moves like a snail, sighing and stamping his feet as he goes, “it’s so unfair, I have to do EVERYTHING!” when asked to pick up his shoes from the bottom of the stairs. Freya has always been a bit of a wallflower in contrast to her brother’s abundance of confidence. She doesn’t like to be in the spot light and is a very caring and loving girl. That’s not to say she doesn’t have a stubborn side and that shows in times when she has her heart set of something she really wants, she will argue every which way till she convinces you she is right.
My husband Barny is a Deputy Head, Primary School Teacher, he loves his job and is fantastic at it. He is also an amazing Dad and husband. Barny loves the outdoors and camping, so much so that he signed up to be a Scout Leader in his spare time and then realised they actually don’t camp out all that much lol. We love spending time outdoors and I’m sure in my future blogs I will tell you all about our adventures, especially in our favourite place in the Lake District. For now though I will leave it here as a small introduction to the Todd Family.
